An impressive performance by the home team, which took the lead just 15 minutes into the game through a brilliantly executed header by Elías Már Ómarsson, assisted by August Erlingmark. IFK Göteborg continued to dominate the match and scored again when Ómarsson netted his second goal of the day in the 60th minute.

With just five minutes remaining in the match, IFK Göteborg decided to substitute Mikkel Diskerud for Vajebah Sakor in the 85th minute.

BK Häcken continued to fight to get the ball into the net, and their efforts paid off with a free kick late in the game, which left-back Paulo José De Oliveira converted in the 90th minute, giving the team a goal, but it was too late to catch up.
