In a closely contested match at the National Arena in Friends Arena, AIK faced Östersund in Allsvenskan on Monday evening. Before a crowd of 16,553 and with referee Stefan Johannesson blowing the whistle, the match started at a high tempo.

AIK took the lead in the 21st minute through Nabil Bahoui and maintained that lead for most of the match. In the 62nd minute, Östersund made a substitution as Tesfaldet Tekie came on for Ronald Mukiibi. In the 65th minute, AIK also made a substitution, bringing on Henok Goitom for Nabil Bahoui.
