Östersund welcomed IK Sirius FK at home in Jämtkraft Arena in front of a crowd of 5,287 spectators. Referee Kristoffer Karlsson set a strict tone from the start, handing out three yellow cards within the first 24 minutes, two of which went to the visiting team.

However, the first goal of the day came in the 28th minute, and it was the home team that took the lead. Alhaji Gero became the goalscorer after a fine pass from Tesfaldet Tekie, making it 1-0. Gero apparently preferred a brief celebration and received a yellow card immediately after the goal.

IK Sirius FK equalized just ten minutes later when Philip Haglund headed the ball in after a corner kick from Jesper Arvidsson. Amidst all the battling, the referee also managed to issue four yellow cards during the first half.

At halftime, Östersund wanted to change the draw and substituted Douglas Bergqvist for Ronald Mukiibi. This turned out to be a good decision. In the 54th minute, Curtis Edwards scored after a nice attack, giving Östersund the lead again at 2-1.

Östersund then quickly scored two more goals through Jamie Ryan Hopcutt and Dino Islamovic in the 69th and 71st minutes. IK Sirius FK tried to respond with a penalty goal by Jesper Arvidsson in the 73rd minute, but Östersund ultimately took home the victory with a score of 5-2 after Sotirios Papagiannopoulos scored the fifth goal in the final minutes of the match.

The match was a true card fest, with seven yellow cards issued, five of which went to the visiting team IK Sirius FK. It was an entertaining match from start to finish, and Östersund could finally celebrate earning three points.
