AIK won Sunday’s Allsvenskan derby against Hammarby at the Friends Arena with a narrow 1-0 victory. It was an intense match where both teams created several chances, but it was AIK that came out on top.

AIK started strong, and just 14 minutes into the match, they had the opportunity to take the lead when Henok Goitom was brought down in the penalty area by Vivaldo Borges dos Santos Neto. Goitom took the penalty himself but sent it wide.

Despite several chances, it wasn't until the 76th minute that AIK finally managed to score. Goitom redeemed himself for his earlier miss and made it 1-0 for the home team after a nice pass from Tarik Elyounoussi.

After the goal, Hammarby pushed forward in an attempt to equalize, but AIK held on and secured three important points in the tight title race.

AIK’s coach Rikard Norling was pleased with the team's performance and especially praised goal-scorer Goitom.

- Henok is an important player for us, and it feels great to see him score in such an important match, Norling said after the game.
