Malmö FF started the match in a dominant fashion, taking an early lead in the 16th minute with a goal from Arnor Traustason, assisted by Egzon Binaku. Kalmar FF tried to respond but were thwarted by Malmö's solid defense, and their efforts were further hampered by Malmö's Romain Gall, who scored another goal for his team in the 32nd minute, assisted by Markus Rosenberg.
