AIK secured an important victory away against Kalmar FF when the teams faced off at Guldfågeln Arena on Sunday afternoon. AIK, who were already leading Allsvenskan before the match, were clear favorites going into the encounter with the obvious underdogs Kalmar FF, who needed to walk off the pitch as winners to secure their position in the middle of the table.

The match started with Kalmar FF trying to put pressure on the visitors, and the first 20 minutes of the first half were dominated by the home team. Nonetheless, it was AIK who would get the first goal opportunity when center-back Robin Jansson headed in a nice assist from Tarik Elyounoussi.

Kalmar FF then tried to apply pressure on their opponents, but despite a number of chances before halftime, they failed to equalize. Instead, Kalmar FF's frustration resulted in three yellow cards (Chima Uche Akas, Romario Pereira Sipiao, and Adam Hellborg).

The second half began with an offensive Kalmar FF side desperately trying to find an equalizer. The team brought in Hiago de Oliveira Ramiro and Tobias Eriksson to open up the play. However, AIK's defensive wall held strong, and the away team kept Kalmar FF at bay.

AIK captain Sebastian Larsson came on in the 67th minute to strengthen the buildup play. Kalmar FF continued their pursuit to catch up with the visitors but could not capitalize on their chances.

In the end, AIK's Denni Avdic was substituted for Stefan Silva, and Nicolas Stefanelli was replaced by Joel Ekstrand. Kalmar FF continued with their offensive play and did everything they could to score an equalizer, but it was too late. AIK held on and took all three points back to Stockholm. The season is thus officially concluded, with AIK winning the league this year, while Kalmar FF finished in 10th place in the table.
