Malmö FF hosted IF Elfsborg at Eleda Stadium in an exciting Allsvenskan match on Sunday. In front of a large crowd of 16,139, it was Malmö that proved to be the stronger team.

The match started with high intensity as both teams showcased their play. After 25 minutes, however, IF Elfsborg’s Simon Olsson received a warning from referee Victor Wolf. Just two minutes later, Malmö FF’s Søren Rieks also received a warning from the referee.

Half an hour into the match, it was again Simon Olsson from IF Elfsborg who picked up his second yellow card and was sent off. Malmö FF quickly took advantage of their numerical superiority, and just before halftime, it was Markus Rosenberg who elegantly scored to make it 1-0 for Malmö FF.

The second half began with high intensity from both teams, and it didn’t take long for IF Elfsborg to equalize through Stefan Ishizaki and Frederik Holst. However, Malmö FF proved to be the stronger team, and just a few minutes later, Anders Bleg Christiansen put Malmö FF back in the lead.

Malmö FF continued to press IF Elfsborg, and with Guillermo Federico Molins Palmeiro on the field, along with Romain Gall, it was difficult for the guests to get back into the match. Malmö FF added two more goals from Søren Rieks and Markus Rosenberg, and the match ended 4-1 in favor of Malmö FF.

After an impressive victory against IF Elfsborg, Malmö FF now has seven consecutive wins in Allsvenskan and looks set to be a team to contend with this year.
