Hammarby had a clear advantage going into the match, lying in fourth place in the table, while GIF Sundsvall was last. And it was also Hammarby who grabbed the baton right away.
After 15 minutes, the first goal came. Alexander Kacaniklic received a nice pass and put the ball safely into the goal behind a chance-less Sundsvall goalkeeper. Hammarby continued to dominate at Tele2 Arena and also created several dangerous chances, before Muamer Tankovic made it 2-0 in the 35th minute. This time it was Nikola Djurdjic who provided the assist.
In the second half, Hammarby continued to be the stronger team, and GIF Sundsvall was finally forced to act. But shortly after the start of the half, Carlos Moros Gracia saw red after a hard tackle. After that, Sundsvall knew that backing up on the pitch would be even more difficult.
Hammarby had some control of the game after this and continued to create chances. It took until the 84th minute before Hammarby managed a ball in goal. This time, however, it was Richard Magyar who scored the goal - though it was put in as an own goal.
The match ended with a definitive 3-0 victory for Hammarby, which means they move up to third place in the table and continue to fight for a place in the top three teams. On the other side, Sunsdvall remain in last place and are in a difficult situation for the rest of the season.
