Kalmar FF delivered a strong performance when they faced AIK at Friends Arena in a match that ended 1 - 2. Just nine minutes in, Kalmar took the lead through Alexander Jakobsen, who headed the ball in after a nice pass from Nils Fröling. AIK tried to equalize but struggled to create any dangerous scoring chances. In the 40th minute, Sebastian Larsson received a yellow card.
In the second half, Kalmar continued to dominate and punished AIK in the 45th minute when Fidan Aliti scored after a fine pass from Geir Andre Herrem. Shortly thereafter, Aliti received a yellow card. At halftime, AIK made two substitutions in an attempt to turn the match around, which proved to be a good move. In the 51st minute, Tarik Elyounoussi reduced the deficit after a nice pass from Nabil Bahoui.
Kalmar continued to fight but received two additional yellow cards through Geir Andre Herrem and Jesper Manns. AIK kept pressing, but Kalmar managed to hold firm, and even though Rasmus Elm came on and Geir Andre Herrem went off in the 79th minute, Kalmar was able to hold on and secure the three points. Stefan Johannesson was the referee for the match, which was attended by 14,406 spectators.
