Hammarby made an extraordinary comeback against Örebro when the teams met on Monday evening at Tele2 Arena. Despite the away team Örebro taking the lead in the eleventh minute with a goal from Viktor Prodell, the home team fought back and scored five goals during the match.
Hammarby quickly responded to Örebro's opening goal when Vladimir Rodic headed the ball in the 39th minute, assisted by Simon Sandberg, leveling the score at 1-1. In the second half, the home team continued to dominate, and Nikola Djurdjic gave Hammarby the lead with a goal in the 58th minute, following an assist from Darijan Bojanic.
Just five minutes later, Rodic extended Hammarby’s lead once again by scoring his second goal of the evening. After the third goal, Örebro made a small surprise by bringing on Agon Mehmeti in hopes of starting anew. But it was Hammarby who continued to dominate, and Mats Goberg Solheim was substituted in the 66th minute, taking just twelve minutes to register himself on the score sheet with a header.
Hammarby never took their foot off the gas and continued to create chance after chance, leading to Solheim scoring his second goal in the 90th minute. The match ended 5-1 in favor of Hammarby, who now sits in third place in the table, while Örebro is in ninth place. The referee Martin Strömbergsson did a solid job, keeping the match under control along with his assistant referees, Fredrik Nilsson and Magnus Sjöblom. The crowd in attendance, which numbered 23,194, witnessed an entertaining match with many goals and high intensity.
