Hammarby managed to achieve an impressive away victory against Djurgården in the heated Stockholm derby in Allsvenskan. The match was played at Tele2 Arena in front of an empty stand.
Already in the fourth minute, Hammarby took the lead through Aron Johannsson. Vladimir Rodic provided the assist, playing Johannsson through, who easily placed the ball into the net. Djurgården tried to get back into the match but struggled to create any really dangerous scoring chances.
In the 21st minute, Hammarby made their first substitution when Imad Khalili replaced Johannsson. This proved to be a successful substitution as Khalili doubled the lead to 2-0 just twelve minutes later. Gustav Ludwigson delivered a nice pass to Khalili, who slotted the ball into the goal.
Djurgården tried to apply pressure on Hammarby and created several chances but found it difficult to find the back of the net. In the 38th minute, Hammarby's David Fällman received a warning from referee Andreas Ekberg.
In the second half, Djurgården continued to press and created several dangerous scoring opportunities. In the 64th minute, both teams made substitutions. Kevin Walker and Emir Kujovic replaced Jonathan Ring and Emmanuel Justine Rabby Banda for Djurgården, while Serge-Junior Martinsson Ngouali replaced Darijan Bojanic for Hammarby.
The pace of the match increased and several players received warnings from the referee. Gustav Ludwigson received a warning for Hammarby in the 67th minute, followed by Jeppe Andrup Andersen in the 68th minute. Jesper Karlström then received a warning for Djurgården in the same minute.
Djurgården managed to reduce the deficit with an own goal in the 74th minute, giving them a glimmer of hope to come back into the match. Both teams made further substitutions, with Aimar Sher replacing Abdul Rahman Khalili for Hammarby in the 83rd minute and Jesper Nyholm replacing Jonathan Augustinsson for Djurgården in the 88th minute.
Hammarby received another warning when Aimar Sher picked up a yellow card in the 90+1 minute. Djurgården had a few opportunities to equalize in the final sprint but failed to put the ball in the goal.
The match ended 2-1 to Hammarby, allowing them to celebrate a rare victory on Djurgården's home ground. Hammarby managed to climb to seventh place in the table while Djurgården maintained their fourth position.
