Hammarby defeated Falkenbergs FF 3-1 in an exciting match in Allsvenskan on Sunday afternoon. The match was played at Falcon Alcohol-Free Arena in front of empty stands due to Covid-19 restrictions. Referee Glenn Nyberg was in charge of officiating the match, assisted by Johan Thalin and Christian Tennstedt.
Falkenbergs FF started strong and took the lead in the 32nd minute, when Anton Wede scored his third goal of the season. He was assisted by Nsima Peter. Falkenbergs FF continued to press and create dangerous scoring chances during the first half. But Hammarby was not going to give up so easily.
In the 60th minute, Hammarby equalized in an unfortunate manner for Falkenbergs FF. The goal was an own goal, making the score 1-1. Hammarby then took over the play and began to dominate the field.
In the 66th minute, Hammarby took the lead through Aron Johannsson, who scored his seventh goal of the season. Alexander Kacaniklic provided the assist. Falkenbergs FF then tried to get back into the match by making several substitutions. Karl Söderström replaced Jacob Ericsson in the 70th minute, and Matthew Jimmy David Garbett and John Chibuike came on in the 78th minute to strengthen the attack.
But it was Hammarby who would put the final nail in the coffin. In the 90th minute, Aron Johannsson scored his second goal of the day from a penalty kick, making the score 3-1 in favor of Hammarby. Viktor Noring received a warning in the 90th minute for Falkenbergs FF, and during the final minutes, Tim Waker made a substitution for Hammarby, replacing Gustav Ludwigson.
It was a well-played match where both teams had their chances, but in the end, it was Hammarby who could claim victory and take home three important points. Falkenbergs FF will now have to return to the training field to prepare for their next match in hopes of getting revenge and turning their luck around.
