It was Saturday afternoon on October 24th when BK Häcken and Mjällby AIF met at Bravida Arena in front of an empty stand. Referee Per Melin, assisted by Mahbod Beigi and Andreas Söderkvist, had full control of the match.
Already after seven minutes, the referee showed a yellow card to Mjällby AIF, as Viktor Agardius received a booking. Then it was Mjällby AIF's turn to celebrate when Max Watson headed in the opening goal to make it 0-1 after 14 minutes, assisted by Jacob Bergström. BK Häcken received a warning after 21 minutes when Patrik Wålemark committed a foul.
The pace was high and things got heated on the field. Mjällby AIF's Jesper Gustavsson also received a yellow card after 43 minutes. At halftime, BK Häcken decided to make a substitution, bringing on Ahmed Yasin for Patrik Wålemark.
The second half began with a yellow card for BK Häcken when Leo Bengtsson got booked after 49 minutes. Mjällby AIF then extended their lead to 0-2 with a goal from Moses Orwohicho Ogbu, assisted by Jacob Bergström in the 58th minute. However, BK Häcken was not ready to give up and responded immediately with a goal to reduce the deficit. Daleho Irandust scored with an assist from Alexander Söderlund in the 60th minute.
BK Häcken then made a substitution, with Johan Hammar coming on for Rasmus Lindgren after 65 minutes. Mjällby AIF also made two substitutions, with Erik Pärsson replacing Moses Orwohicho Ogbu and Adam Petersson replacing Jesper Gustavsson in the 67th minute. With ten minutes remaining, BK Häcken made their final substitution. Nikola Gulan came on for Adam Andersson.
Things got heated on the field, and BK Häcken picked up two more yellow cards. Both Nikola Gulan and Ahmed Yasin received bookings after 82 minutes. But BK Häcken did not give up, and with seven minutes left in the match, Gustav Berggren managed to head in the equalizer to make it 2-2. Daleho Irandust provided the assist.
It also got tense on the sidelines, with both Andreas Alm, head coach of BK Häcken, and Christian Lundström, assistant coach of BK Häcken, receiving yellow cards after 85 minutes.
The match ended 2-2, and BK Häcken opted for one last substitution in the fourth minute of stoppage time, with Viktor Lundberg coming on for Godswill Ekpolo Egbulu.
