On Sunday afternoon, October 25, 2020, an exciting soccer match took place between Östersund and Hammarby at the Jämtkraft Arena. Unfortunately, no audience was able to enjoy the match on-site, but that did not stop the players from giving their all on the field.
Referee Fredrik Klitte, along with assistants Daniel Yng and Josef Alacam, maintained control of the match and ensured that the rules were followed. Already in the seventh minute, Östersund made a substitution as Ronald Mukiibi came on for Thomas Poppler Isherwood.
At halftime, Hammarby also made a substitution, giving Mads Fenger Nielsen the opportunity to show what he could do on the field instead of David Fällman.
Just a few minutes into the second half, Hammarby took the lead with a score of 1-0 through Gustav Ludwigson, with the assist provided by Alexander Kacaniklic.
A little later, Östersund received a warning as Ludvig Fritzson found himself in the referee's book. In an attempt to get back into the match, Östersund made two substitutions, bringing in Samuel Laryea Mensiro and Francis Jno-Baptiste for Noah Sonko Sundberg and Charlie Colkett.
Östersund also chose to make their third substitution, with Jerell Anthony Sellars replacing Felix Hörberg.
It didn't take long before Hammarby extended their lead. In the 62nd minute, Alexander Kacaniklic made it 2-0 for Hammarby after an assist from Simon Sandberg.
In the 74th minute, Hammarby increased their lead even further. Aron Johannsson scored his tenth goal of the season, making it 3-0 for Hammarby. Once again, it was Alexander Kacaniklic with the assist.
Hammarby also chose to make two substitutions. Dennis Widgren came on for Simon Sandberg, and Serge-Junior Martinsson Ngouali replaced Aimar Sher.
Östersund did not give up and finally managed to score their first goal of the match. In the 78th minute, Blair Sebastian Turgott found the back of the net after a nice assist from Isak Ssali Ssewankambo.
Both teams then made further substitutions. Akinkunmi Ayobami Amoo came on for Gustav Ludwigson for Hammarby, and Nikolaos Dosis replaced Nebiyou Perry for Östersund.
In the 80th minute, Aron Johannsson of Hammarby received a warning, and in the 90th minute, Akinkunmi Ayobami Amoo also received a warning.
The match was blown off after two minutes of added time, resulting in a 3-1 victory for Hammarby. A well-deserved win following strong performances from, among others, Gustav Ludwigson, Alexander Kacaniklic, and Aron Johannsson. Östersund fought bravely but unfortunately did not have enough to trouble Hammarby throughout the match.
