Hammarby had their first match in Allsvenskan for the season against Varbergs BoIS FC on Wednesday evening. Varbergs tried to come back but struggled with discipline issues at the same time. Jean Carlos De Brito received a warning in the 76th minute, and Hampus Zackrisson received a warning in the 79th minute.
Hammarby then secured the victory in the 90th minute. Akinkunmi Ayobami Amoo scored the goal after an assist from Gustav Ludwigson. This was Ayobami Amoo's third goal of the season, making the final score 3-1 in favor of Hammarby.
After the match, Hammarby celebrated three important points while Varbergs BoIS FC continued to struggle at the bottom of the table. Referee Bojan Pandzic and assistant referees Robin Wilde and Niklas Nyberg had a relatively calm match with only eight spectators present at Påskbergsvallen.
