Malmö FF wanted to secure the victory and chose to make two more substitutions. In the 74th minute, Veljko Birmancevic left the field and was replaced by Lasse Ladegaard Nielsen. IF Elfsborg responded shortly after, substituting Jacob Ondrejka for Ahmed Qasem in the 75th minute.

The intensity continued to rise, and in the 76th minute, Malmö FF received a yellow card through Lasse Ladegaard Nielsen. IF Elfsborg wanted to make their final substitution and in the 88th minute, Robert Gojani was replaced by Samuel Holmén. Additionally, Andrè Ibsen Rømer was substituted off and Fredrik Holst came on.
