IFK Göteborg broke their negative streak on Sunday when they defeated Östersund 3-2 in an exciting match at Jämtkraft Arena. Before the match, Göteborg had not won in their last seven games and were desperate for three points to turn the tide.
The match started intensely and it didn't take long before a warning was issued. Östersund player Frank Arhin received a yellow card just a minute into the match. IFK Göteborg showcased their offensive threat early on, and in the 12th minute, Kolbeinn Sigþórsson managed to outsmart the home team's goalkeeper to score 1-0 for Göteborg. The assist came from Tobias Sana.
Östersund tried to get back into the game, but it was once again IFK Göteborg that struck. In the 45th minute, Sebastian Eriksson extended the lead to 2-0 after another assist from Tobias Sana. The Göteborg players demonstrated their strong teamwork, and Östersund struggled to keep up.
Five minutes into the second half, Felix Hörberg of Östersund received a warning from the referee. The home team continued to press for a goal back, and in the 57th minute, Francis Jno-Baptiste gave them hope by making it 1-2. Patrick Kpozo provided the assist.

With just over ten minutes left in the match, Robin Söder scored the third goal for IFK Göteborg, assisted by Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi. Göteborg's players celebrated the goal, but Östersund did not give up, and in the 88th minute, Simon Kroon reduced the score to 2-3 with a header that went into the net. Francis Jno-Baptiste contributed the assist.
The match ended 3-2 in favor of IFK Göteborg, securing three important points for them. Östersund fought hard but could not catch up to Göteborg’s lead. The spectators at Jämtkraft Arena witnessed an entertaining match with plenty of goal chances and tension right up until the final whistle.
