Djurgården defeated Kalmar FF 3-2 in an eventful match at Tele2 Arena in front of 18,930 spectators. The match was officiated by Bojan Pandzic, with Mikael Hallin and Niclas Ivarsson as his assistants.

Before the match, Djurgården was in an impressive second place in the league table, while Kalmar FF sat in seventh place. Expectations were high as the teams met on Saturday afternoon.

Djurgården took control of the match from the start, and the first goal came in the 14th minute. Edward Chilufya was the goal scorer, marking his sixth goal of the season. Nicklas Bärkroth provided the assist, and Djurgården took the lead 1-0.

Just nine minutes later, Djurgården extended their lead to 2-0. Hjalmar Ekdal scored his fourth goal of the season with a header. Magnus Eriksson assisted on this occasion, and Djurgården had a firm grip on the match.

Djurgården continued to dominate, and in the 35th minute, they made it 3-0. Emmanuel Justine Rabby Banda scored his third goal of the season. Djurgården was in full control of the match and seemed headed for a comfortable victory.

However, in the 40th minute, Kalmar FF’s Sebastian Ring received a yellow card, and the players went into halftime with the score at 3-0 in favor of Djurgården.

In the second half, it was initially Kalmar FF who began to catch up. Just four minutes in, Jonathan Ring reduced the score to 3-1. The assist came from Isak Jansson, who had just been substituted into Kalmar FF.

Kalmar FF continued to press, and in the 60th minute, they reduced the deficit further. Isak Jansson scored, with an assist from Sebastian Ring. Suddenly, the score was 3-2, and the match was wide open.

Djurgården tried to stop Kalmar FF’s comeback and made two substitutions in the 65th minute, bringing in Jesper Nyholm and Joel Asoro for Haris Radetinac and Nicklas Bärkroth.

In the 80th minute, Djurgården made their final substitution as Leo Cornic came on for Kalle Holmberg. The match became increasingly exciting, and with eight minutes left on the clock, Djurgården’s Hampus Finndell received a yellow card.

Kalmar FF desperately tried to catch up, and in the 86th minute, they substituted Erik Israelsson for Lars Sætra. However, despite several dangerous chances, they couldn't find the back of the net, and the match was finally over.

Djurgården made their last substitution in stoppage time when Isak Hien came on for Edward Chilufya. But in the fifth minute of added time, Banda received his second yellow card.

In the end, Djurgården won 3-2 and celebrated yet another three points. This result meant they retained their second place in the table and demonstrated that they are strong candidates to challenge for the league title. Kalmar FF, on the other hand, could head home with their heads held high despite the loss, having given Djurgården a tough match.
