At a packed Gamla Ullevi, IFK Göteborg and Malmö FF played each other in an important Allsvenskan match. It was Malmö who started the game best and after nine minutes Søren Rieks received a warning. Just two minutes later, Gabriel Dal Toe Busanello was also cautioned after a hard tackle.

In the 20th minute Malmö took the lead after a nice combination where Isaac Thelin received the ball from Søren Rieks and was able to roll in 0-1 behind IFK's goalkeeper.

IFK Göteborg struggled to find an equalizer but had difficulty finding the right attacking play. Malmö had several dangerous counterattacks but failed to extend their lead.

In the 56th minute IFK made their first change and substituted Anders Trondsen. A change that would prove to be successful as Trondsen was involved in several of IFK's dangerous attacks. But it would also be him who drew a warning in the 60th minute.

Malmö also chose to start substituting players and in the 62nd minute Søren Rieks was replaced by Taha Abdi Ali. IFK also changed players and in the 67th minute Sebastian Ohlsson was replaced by Linus Carlstrand.

Malmö continued to create dangerous chances but had difficulty putting the ball in the net. In the 74th minute Stefano Holmquist Vecchia was replaced by Joseph Ceesay.

IFK tried desperately to find an equalizer and substituted Suleiman Abdullahi in the 86th minute but failed to put the ball in the net.

The match ended with a 0-1 victory for Malmö FF and IFK Göteborg is now second last in the table while Malmö leads the league.
