It was a fantastic evening at Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg as IFK faced the visiting BK Häcken in Allsvenskan. With nearly 18,000 supporters in attendance, the atmosphere was top-notch, and both teams knew it was an important match for their seasons.

IFK Göteborg, who were sitting modestly in 14th place in the table before the match, made it clear right away that they were on the rise, taking the lead already after 21 minutes. It was Marcus Berg who headed the ball into the net from a precise cross by Thomas Santos.

And IFK continued to keep up the pressure on Häcken. After 35 minutes, it was Sebastian Hausner's turn to find the net following a nice pass from Berg, and just six minutes later, Arbnor Mucolli struck to give Gothenburg a shocking 3-0 lead.

However, Häcken would not be easily defeated. Ibrahim Sadiq won a penalty just before halftime, but Gothenburg's goalkeeper stood tall and made a good save. Unfortunately for Häcken, they didn't gain much momentum after the break as Berg played a key role in Gothenburg’s fourth goal. After a fine pass from Mucolli, Berg was on target again, scoring his second goal of the match.

For Häcken, it was now an uphill battle being down 4-0, but they did not give up. A header from Akoua Romeo Amane provided them a consolation goal just six minutes after entering the pitch, giving the team a bit of life again. But it was just another consolation goal when Ali Youssef scored the visitors' second goal with fifteen minutes left in the game.

In the end, IFK Göteborg won 4-2 in a well-played match. Gothenburg's fans celebrated enthusiastically, and the team received a standing ovation from the crowd as they left the field, while BK Häcken tried to forget a tough evening and plan for their next match.
