It was an exciting match on the Strandvallen A pitch when Mjällby AIF hosted IFK Värnamo in the Allsvenskan. Already after three minutes, the referee issued a yellow card to IFK Värnamo's player Emin Grozdanic. However, it was Mjällby AIF that took the lead in the eighth minute when Max Fenger scored with an assist from Adam Petersson. IFK Värnamo, however, was not willing to be defeated and equalized in the 17th minute when Ajdin Zeljkovic scored a fine goal with Gustav Engvall providing the assist.

IFK Värnamo's Victor Eriksson received a warning in the 23rd minute, but that did not stop the team from continuing to work hard. Mjällby AIF's Adam Petersson received a warning in the 36th minute, but four minutes later, Gudmundur Baldvin Nökkvason managed to score with an assist from Herman Johansson, giving Mjällby AIF the lead again. Just before halftime, IFK Värnamo's Emin Grozdanic received his second warning and was sent off.

After the break, IFK Värnamo continued to fight and brought on Hampus Näsström and Edvin Becirovic in the 59th minute. Oscar Johansson Schellhas then scored a penalty in the 74th minute, leveling the score to 2-2. Mjällby AIF's Tom Pettersson received a warning in the 79th minute, and the coach made two substitutions in the 80th minute in an attempt to find a decisive goal. But in the 87th minute, Gustav Engvall sealed the match with a goal, assisted by Oscar Johansson Schellhas. IFK Värnamo brought on Emin Hasic in the 89th minute to try to run down the clock, which would also be the last substitution of the match. Mjällby AIF brought on Mamudu Moro and Imam Jagne while Jacob Bergström went off in the 89th minute. The match ended 2-3 in favor of IFK Värnamo.
