Umeå IK FF started the match stronger and managed to create more dangerous chances than Djurgården. In the 53rd minute, Ramona Bachmann took a well-directed shot that went into the goal and gave Umeå IK FF the 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later Ogonna Chukwudi increased the lead to 2-0 after a nice assist from Maria Nordbrandt.
In the 69th minute Djurgården managed to reduce the lead through Mia Jalkerud and then pressed on to try to equalize the match. But despite several dangerous chances, they did not manage to crack Umeå IK FF's defense again and the match ended with a victory for the home team with the result 2-1.
Hanna Pettersson came on as a substitute for Maria Nordbrandt in the 66th minute and made a strong effort for Umeå IK FF. Djurgården substituted Natalia Fuentes for Matilda Rosqvist in the 71st minute and Caroline Frånberg for Sofia Nilsson in the 76th minute, but it was not enough to turn the game around.
