Piteå IF took a deserved victory at home against Kristianstads DFF with a score of 2-0 in an exciting match in the Damallsvenskan.
The match started well for the home team when Jennifer Nobis scored just in the sixth minute after a nice assist from June Pedersen. Piteå continued to press and in the 17th minute they doubled their lead when Ann Mari Dovland put the ball in the net with an assist from Hanna Pettersson.
Kristianstads DFF tried to get back into the game but struggled to create any really dangerous chances. Instead, they picked up a couple of yellow cards, including Julia Molin in the 23rd minute and Rebecca Edwards in the 72nd minute.
At halftime, Kristianstads DFF made a substitution, bringing in Elin Nilsen in place of Julia Molin to try to shake things up. However, Piteå IF stood strong and held onto their lead.
In the second half, Piteå IF also made some substitutions to refresh the team and maintain control of the match. Kristianstads DFF continued to attempt to get a goal back, but time ran out and in the 90th minute, Susanne Moberg received yet another yellow card.
When the referee blew the whistle to signal the end of the match, it was clear that Piteå IF had taken three important points and continued their pursuit of a higher position in the table. Kristianstads DFF left empty-handed and with a performance they would certainly like to forget quickly.
