Sara Persson blows the whistle to start the match at Tunavallen in Eskilstuna, where Eskilstuna United DFF hosts FC Rosengård in front of an impressive crowd of 5,563 spectators. This is a very important match for both teams, as Rosengård leads the table while Eskilstuna is in second place.
Eskilstuna starts strongly and takes the lead just fifteen minutes in when Vaila Barsley deflects the ball into the goal after a nice pass from Malin Diaz. The home crowd cheers, and the team is lifted by the excitement that ensues.
However, Rosengård wakes up in the second half, and after 54 minutes, Natasha Andonova equalizes in style. Just four minutes later, Andonova is on the scoreboard again, this time thanks to a fine pass from Ramona Bachmann. Eskilstuna tries to fight their way back, but they struggle to create any dangerous chances.
Eskilstuna brings in Katie Bethke and Felicia Rogic in hopes of turning the match around, but Rosengård holds firm and does not allow the home team back into the game. Instead, there is a chaotic finish to the match with two substitutions and two yellow cards. Eskilstuna's Elena Sadiku receives a yellow card for a hard tackle, and teammate Petra Johansson also gets a yellow card for her play.
As the match approaches its final minutes, Rosengård brings in a couple of new players to try to maintain their lead. In the end, Persson blows the final whistle, and Rosengård wins 2-1. They thus retain their top position in the table while Eskilstuna loses ground and risks dropping from their second place. It was a well-played match with a high pulse and plenty of emotion on the pitch.
