Linköpings FC managed to come back from a two-goal deficit to secure a 3-2 victory at home against Piteå IF in Sunday’s match in the Damallsvenskan.
Piteå IF started the match strongly, with Elin Bragnum scoring two early goals in the second and tenth minutes. Despite several chances from the home team, it wasn’t until the 43rd minute that Magdalena Eriksson reduced the deficit for Linköping with a goal from a corner.
In the second half, Linköping continued their pressure, and Fridolina Rolfö equalized in the 65th minute, assisted by Pernille Mosegaard Harder. Five minutes later, Harder herself scored the decisive goal for the home team with a header, assisted by Eriksson.
Piteå tried to fight their way back into the match, but Linköping managed to hold on and secure three points. It was a tough match that featured two yellow cards, the first for Faith Ikidi Michael of Piteå and the second for Irma Helin Zibanejad from the same team later in the match.
The spectators at Bilbörsen Arena were treated to an exciting match, which ended 3-2 in favor of Linköpings FC. Referee Sara Persson and her assistant referees Sandra Österberg and Camilla Stendahl maintained a good level throughout the match and kept the game flowing.
