Linköpings FC extended their winning streak to six matches when they defeated KIF Örebro DFF 5-0 last night at Bilbörsen Arena in the Damallsvenskan. Nicoline Sørensen was the star of the match with two goals and one assist.
The match started well for the home team, who took the lead in the fourth minute when Nicoline Sørensen easily headed in a nice pass from Kosovare Asllani. Linköping continued to control the match, and in the 26th minute, the team extended their lead with a beautiful free-kick goal by Marija Banusic.
Before half-time, Linköping scored their third goal. Nicoline Sørensen headed in her second goal of the night after a perfect cross from Jonna Andersson.
In the second half, both teams made a few substitutions in hopes of turning the match around. But it was Linköping who continued to dominate, and in the 74th minute, Marija Banusic scored her second goal of the night after a nice pass from Lina Hurtig.
Linköping kept pressing, and in the 88th minute, Maja Ring Kildemoes scored the fifth goal for the home team.
The result is significant for Linköping, who now have a nine-point lead over third-placed Piteå IF in the table. KIF Örebro DFF is in tenth place with 16 points.
