It was autumn winds and a sunny Tunavallen when Damallsvenskan team Eskilstuna United DFF hosted Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC in front of 722 spectators on Sunday afternoon. The referee team consisting of Pernilla Larsson, Rikard Aspegren, and Andreas Jansson was ready when the match kicked off at 15:00.
Eskilstuna started the match lively and had several dangerous chances before Hanna Glas received a warning in the 25th minute. But it was Mimmi Larsson who was able to give the home team the lead in the 54th minute after a fine pass from Malin Diaz. The atmosphere in the stands rose as it looked like Eskilstuna could take their first victory in six matches.
However, Kopparbergs/Göteborg proved too difficult for the home team when they equalized just two minutes later. Adelina Engman scored the goal after an assist from Nathalie Hoff Persson. Pauline Hammarlund then scored two goals in the 63rd and 64th minutes. First, a header after a cross from Rebecka Blomqvist, and then a precise shot after being set up by Elin Rubensson.
Eskilstuna substituted Ida Hyttinen for Nathalie Björn in the 78th minute while Amanda Johnsson Haahr came on for Adelina Engman for the guests. But Göteborg showed their quality when Rubensson sealed the match at 4-1 in the 84th minute.
Eskilstuna substituted Cornelia Ellefors for Cajsa Åkerberg in the 86th minute, but it was Göteborg who would close the match by making it 5-1 in the 88th minute. Hammarlund scored her second goal of the day after Blomqvist set her up once again. Eskilstuna had made a strong start, but Göteborg demonstrated their quality and took home three important points.
