On Thursday evening, Hammarby IF FF faced Linköpings FC at Hammarby IP 1 in front of an audience of 1,114. Referee Sara Persson officiated the match with the assistance of lineswomen Julia Magnusson Sandkvist and Emelie Elfstrand. Before the match, Hammarby was in 8th place in the standings while Linköping was in 5th place.
Only eight minutes into the match, the first goal was scored by the guests. Janni Arnth Jensen scored, giving Linköping a 1-0 lead. But Hammarby quickly responded with a goal in the 15th minute from Madeleine Tegström, bringing the match back to a level playing field.
After a fairly even and goalless second half, Linköping made a substitution in the 59th minute, bringing in Filippa Angeldahl for Tove Almqvist. Hammarby responded by substituting Hanna Lundqvist in the 65th minute for Olga Ekblom.
Towards the end of the match, both teams made one more substitution. Linköping replaced Frida Leonhardsen Maanum with Johanna Rasmussen, while Hammarby substituted both Frida Sjöberg and Emma Jansson for Kelly Conheeney and Klara Folkesson in the 79th and 86th minutes, respectively.
However, it was Linköping that would go on to win the match after Natasha Dowie scored in the third minute of stoppage time. Hammarby attempted to come back, but it wasn't enough, and the match ended 1-2 in favor of Linköping.
Unfortunately, Hammarby’s Alexandra Lindberg also received a yellow card in the 90th minute. Despite the home advantage and a closely contested match, Hammarby was unable to secure a victory this time.
