It was an exciting match between Västerås BK 30 and Segeltorps IF on Saturday afternoon at Ringvallen 2. The audience was present to see two of the Division 1 Mellersta women's teams face off against each other.
The match started well for the home team when Moa Karlsson scored her first goal of the day after 9 minutes. Segeltorps IF fought hard to get back into the game, but Västerås BK 30 held firm and defended well. Despite some dangerous moments from the visiting team, they were unable to score.
At halftime, Segeltorps IF made a substitution, bringing Isabel Elmqvist onto the field in place of Carolina Eriksson.
The second half began with a warning for Ella Niemelä from Västerås BK 30. Shortly after this, Thea Bragner Mokko entered the field in place of Emma Lorenzen. After 70 minutes, Moa Karlsson managed to score again, this time from the penalty spot, increasing Västerås BK 30's lead to 2-0.
Västerås BK 30 substituted Linn Niemelä, replacing her with Johanna Eirefors. Shortly after this, Segeltorps IF made their first substitution while Västerås BK 30 made three substitutions at once - Elvira Gustafsson, Liwa Nilsson, and Wilma Hedenström. However, even with a newly configured lineup, Västerås BK 30 held off Segeltorps IF.
With just a few minutes left in the match, the visiting team put everything on the line for one last effort, and it paid off. Filippa Sand scored an away goal just before the final whistle blew. Segeltorps IF lost the match 2-1.
Referee Amanda Davidsson had a good match and kept the game flowing. Some of her decisions were controversial, especially regarding Västerås BK 30. Assistant referees Elton Paloja and Agnes Waziri chose the right moments to inform the referee about situations that were difficult to see.
It was a tough match for both teams, but Västerås BK 30 secured three points while Segeltorps IF will have to regroup and move forward.
