It was an exciting match at Björkängsvallen when Bergdalens IK faced Göteborgs DFF in Division 1 Mellersta Götaland for women. In front of an audience of 137 people and with Besnik Bajrami as the referee, the match started at 15:00 on Saturday afternoon on the artificial grass pitch.
Göteborgs DFF started strong and took the lead in the 33rd minute when Frida Bremer put the ball behind Bergdalens goalkeeper. However, the home team quickly responded, and in the 38th minute, Sara Lindén received a pass and shot in the equalizer. Just four minutes later, it was Julia Gilkes’ turn to score, and Bergdalens took the lead 2-1.
The second half continued with an even contest, and in the 67th minute, Göteborgs DFF made their first substitution, replacing Emma Lorenzen with Felicia Holmberg. In the 70th minute, Bergdalens IK substituted Nathalie Andersson for Josefine Axengren in an effort to maintain their lead.
Göteborgs DFF kept fighting, and in the 90th minute, Elin Flakberg managed to equalize for the away team. Despite Göteborgs DFF pushing forward and continuing to attack, only a few minutes remained, and the match looked set to end in a draw.
However, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Bergdalens IK was awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area. Izabella Bergström took the shot and scored. Bergdalens IK won the match 3-2 to the delight of the crowd at Björkängsvallen.
It was a well-played match by both teams and an exciting battle right up to the final minutes. Bergdalens IK managed to fend off Göteborgs DFF and secured three important points at home.
