On Saturday, June 17, Själevads IK played against Gefle IF FF at Själevads IP A-Plan in front of an audience of 103 people. It was a tight match between two teams in Division 1 North for women. Själevad were in ninth place in the table, while Gefle were in seventh place before the match.
The match started evenly with both teams eager to take the lead. Själevad substituted Elsa Jonsson for Agnes Jonsson after 42 minutes. After just over 50 minutes, the decisive moment came when Gefle scored the goal that would put pressure on Själevad. Emelie Löhman from Gefle scored a fantastic goal, placing the ball in the net.
Själevad desperately tried to equalize, but Gefle’s defense allowed no balls to get through. Själevad brought in Matilda Edman and substituted out Alice Rosén after 49 minutes in the hope of creating some dangerous attacks. However, to Gefle’s relief, Själevad's players were kept away from the goal.
In a final desperate effort to secure a point, Agnes Jonsson was substituted out again, and Matilda Edman came back in. However, Gefle remained solid and took three important points. Gefle substituted in Ebba Holmström for Therese Söderlind after 61 minutes. They later substituted out Sara Hammergård and brought in Alva Söderhäll after 68 minutes, and then swapped Ebba Axelsson for Tilde Lindström and Klara Kempe Kivi for Elsa Berglund after 83 minutes.
The match ended 0-1, and Gefle IF FF achieved an important victory in Division 1 North for women. Själevad IK will need to study their mistakes and work to climb up the table. The referee Andreas Olsson officiated the match along with his assistant referees Sharif Jaffari and Jakob Blixt.
