In Saturday's afternoon match at Lekevi IP between Mariestads BoIS FF and Stångenäs AIS, the game ended in a draw, 2-2.
The match started intensely, and already in the eighth minute, Stångenäs AIS received a warning when Hanna Olsson received a yellow card. Just four minutes later, however, Naime Merovci managed to score for Stångenäs and took the lead at 0-1. But Mariestads BoIS FF quickly responded, and in the 15th minute, Marie Sandberg equalized to 1-1.
After a balanced first half, the hard play continued, and Stångenäs received another warning when Karin From was shown a yellow card in the 33rd minute. In the 76th minute, Naime Merovci scored his second goal of the day, giving Stångenäs the lead once again, now at 1-2. However, Mariestads BoIS FF did not give up, and in the 81st minute, Sara Larsson stepped up and equalized the match to 2-2.
Despite several attempts from both teams to decide the match, it ultimately ended in a draw, largely thanks to the hard-working defenders of both teams. Referee Sandra Österberg had a challenging match to officiate but managed it well along with assistant referees Ina Landin and Caroline Johannesson.
With no spectators present, it was a close and exciting match that finished 2-2 between Mariestads BoIS FF and Stångenäs AIS in Division 1 Norra Götaland for women.
