In an exciting match on the artificial grass at Tavlebordsvallen, Gilleby, Orust FC managed to secure an important victory against Qviding FIF with a score of 2-1. Despite Qviding FIF being the team that pressured more throughout the majority of the match, it was Orust that capitalized on their chances the best.
The match started intensely with a lot of battling for the ball in midfield. Qviding FIF had a lot of ball possession and created several dangerous opportunities, but it was Orust FC that took the lead through Nicole Hawley with a fine header in the 34th minute.
Just a few minutes later, Orust extended their lead to 2-0 with another goal from Hawley. Qviding FIF pushed hard for a goal to reduce the deficit but struggled to outsmart Orust’s defense.
In the second half, Qviding FIF made a substitution, bringing on Caroline Wasenius for Olivia Holmström. However, it was Orust FC that continued to be effective and create chances.
In the 74th minute, Qviding FIF finally managed to pull one back through Amna Lihovic. Despite several dangerous opportunities, they were unable to score any more goals.
The match concluded with an intense struggle for the ball as Qviding FIF tried to catch up while Orust FC defended their lead. In the end, Orust managed to hold on and secure three important points in the battle to avoid relegation.
Referee Tina Bertlin blew the final whistle after 90 minutes of play, and Orust FC could celebrate an important victory in front of their 61 faithful supporters on-site. Qviding FIF returned home with a bitter taste and a performance that was not enough to earn them any points.
