The match between Rynninge IK and IK Gauthiod at Grenadjärvallen looked set to be a close and exciting affair from the start. After an intense beginning to the game, it was Rynninge IK who took the lead after just five minutes of play. Sara Walfridsson executed a fine finish and put the ball in the net, giving the home team a 1-0 lead.
Just a few minutes later, Rynninge IK extended their lead to 2-0 through Sara Stern, which gave the team a solid and early advantage in front of their home crowd at Grenadjärvallen. However, IK Gauthiod did not back down without a fight and reduced the deficit to 2-1 through Anna Ahlstrand after 20 minutes of play.
The first half became a high-scoring affair as IK Gauthiod also managed to equalize before the halftime break. Ida Mörk was the one who found the net, making the score 2-2 and leveling the match once again.
In the second half, IK Gauthiod took control of the game and managed to score two quick goals. First, it was Linnéa Bergman who gave the away team a 3-2 lead, and then Sigrid Verngren extended the lead to 4-2 in the 84th minute.
Rynninge IK tried to make a comeback in the match, but despite a few good chances, they were unable to reduce the score, and the match ended 2-4 in favor of IK Gauthiod. It was an important victory for the away team, who took home three points from Grenadjärvallen in front of the 40 spectators present.
Referee Arash Hosseini blew the whistle to end the match, and IK Gauthiod could celebrate a much-needed victory in Division 1 Norra Götaland, women's.
