On Sunday, Sirius and Umeå FC faced each other at Studenternas in front of a crowd of 1,079 spectators. Referee Glenn Nyberg officiated the match with assistance from Mohamed Nablsi and Niklas Alfredsson.
The match did not start well for the home team Sirius as Umeå's Danny Persson struck a brilliant shot, sending the ball into the top corner in the 31st minute, putting the away team ahead 1-0. Five minutes later, Umeå extended their lead when Erik Lundström found the back of the net. Sirius had their chances but missed their opportunities, while Umeå capitalized on every chance they got.
In the fourth minute of the second half, Sirius made a substitution, bringing on Sunday Bale for Alagi Sosseh. In the 71st minute, Umeå's Erik Löfgren received a yellow card following a quick attack from Sirius. Umeå's coach then made a substitution in the 78th minute, bringing on Seif Kadhim for Johan Larsson. Kadhim hadn’t been on the pitch for even 10 minutes before he too was cautioned after a tough tackle in the 87th minute.
The match ended 2-2, resulting in a points split for the teams. Sirius had a tough start, and Umeå took advantage of their first half well, but Sirius fought back and scored two quick goals in the second half. The final result was fair after a match in which neither team managed to secure a win.
