Vasalunds IF showed yesterday who was in charge at Skytteholms IP. The team secured a much-needed victory against IFK Luleå in Division 1 Norra men's football. The match started strongly for the home team, who took the lead after just one minute with a header from Linus Malmborg. Only two minutes later, Eric Johana Omondi doubled the lead with a sharp shot. After just nine minutes, it was 3-0 to Vasalunds IF, once again thanks to a fine effort from Eric Johana Omondi. Kenny Pavey then took control for the home side and made it 4-0 after 12 minutes. Just 15 minutes in, Eric Johana Omondi completed his hat trick with another goal, and suddenly it was 5-0.
IFK Luleå managed to score two goals through a header by Gustav Rönnbäck Wallin and a shot from Karl Pettersson. However, Vasalunds IF quickly responded, and after 67 minutes it was 6-2 for the home team after another goal from Linus Malmborg.
After the match, Vasalunds IF’s coach was very pleased with his squad: “We played really good football today and showed that our technique and goal-scoring ability are top-notch. We need to continue to play like this if we want to stay in Division 1 Norra.”
The match was well-attended with 121 people present at Skytteholms IP 1. Referee Adam Ladebäck officiated the match with assistance from Danha Bachiri and Jeton Mustini. Carl Björk and Lamine Nekrouf received yellow cards for Vasalunds IF while Keaton Isaksson was cautioned for IFK Luleå. The match ended 6-2 in favor of Vasalunds IF.
