It was on a beautifully sunny Sunday afternoon that Täby FK hosted Gefle IF FF on the familiar grass of Tibblevallen. The emotional teams were fired up and ready to go out and fight for the important points in Division 1 Norra Svealand, ladies.
Already after four minutes, the home team took the lead when Therese Hemland scored a penalty after a controversial situation in Gefle's penalty area. The spectators in the stands celebrated joyfully as Täby took the lead 1-0 so early in the match.
A couple of minutes later, we saw the first yellow card of the match, handed to Elin Linde of Gefle IF FF. However, it was Täby that continued to apply pressure, and in the 18th minute, Anna Lagerstedt managed to find the back of the net, giving Täby a 2-0 lead.
Gefle, however, was not ready to give up so easily, and just a few minutes later, Maja Westling reduced the score to 2-1. Wilma Sjöberg then received an important yellow card for Gefle IF FF before she scored a fine equalizer in the 37th minute. With the score at 2-2 before halftime, everything was open for the second half.
During the halftime break, Gefle IF FF made their first substitution, bringing Wilma Ullström onto the field for Cornelia Avermo. In the 55th minute, Therese Söderlind also made her entrance for Gefle IF FF, replacing Wilma Sjöberg. Täby FK's Mimmi Engberg received a yellow card in the 60th minute, and just a few minutes later, two substitutions were made on Täby's side. Bilana Sadiku replaced Anna Lagerstedt, while Sofia Lindqvist took Mimmi Engberg's place on the field.
In the 82nd minute, Gefle IF FF made two important substitutions, as Cornelia Lennartsson and Maja Jerfström came onto the field for Elin Björklund and Sara Hammergård. It was Maja Jerfström who turned out to be decisive for Gefle IF FF when she scored the last goal of the match in the 86th minute, making it 2-3.
The match ended with a battle for possession in midfield until referee Madlum Ariz blew the whistle, allowing Gefle IF FF to celebrate an important away victory. The spectators at Tibblevallen witnessed an intense and thrilling match with many chances, efficiency, and a strong fighting effort from Gefle IF FF.
