The match between Smedby AIS and IFK Värnamo at Smedby IP began strongly for the home team. Already in the third minute, Vendela Schönberg managed to score and give Smedby a 1-0 lead. Just before the twenty-minute mark, Emelie Jämtenstål increased the lead to 2-0 for Smedby.

IFK Värnamo tried to get back into the match with a substitution in the 29th minute, but it was still Smedby that continued to dominate. Simona Ågren scored two quick goals at the end of the first half, and when the referee blew for halftime, the score was 4-0 to Smedby AIS.

Immediately after the break, IFK Värnamo managed to reduce the deficit through Fanny Götesson, but it would prove to be too little too late. Shamiram Yakob made it 5-1 for Smedby in the 51st minute, and just a few minutes later, Nina Holmqvist increased the lead to 6-1. Despite a consolation goal from IFK Värnamo by Amela Basic in the 71st minute, it was Smedby AIS who took home the victory with a final score of 6-2.

Smedby AIS played a fantastic match and showed why they are so high up in the standings. IFK Värnamo will head home and regroup for their next match in an effort to climb up the table.
