At Laröd IP A-plan, Hittarps IK and Lörby IF met today in an exciting match in Division 1 Södra Götaland for women. However, the attendance was zero as the match was played without spectators.
Hittarps IK set the tone for the match with an early goal by Isabelle Angel in the fourth minute, a header that gave the team an early lead. Lörby IF fought back and managed to equalize with a goal from Maja Lundgren in the 25th minute.
After a tough first half with no more goals, Hittarps IK brought on Evelina Eklund in the 37th minute in hopes of improving their offensive play. This turned out to be a successful strategy as Isabelle Angel scored again in the 49th minute, giving the team a 2-1 lead.
Lörby IF didn’t give up and substituted Vilma Holm in the 65th minute to strengthen their offense, but Hittarps IK held their ground with strong defensive play. In the 68th minute, Hittarps IK substituted Isabel Maria Aguilar for Lisa Håkansson to bolster their midfield.
Lörby IF made a final substitution, bringing in Selma Södergren for Julia Johansson in the 81st minute in hopes of a late equalizer, but Hittarps IK maintained their lead until the final whistle. Hittarps IK also managed to substitute Ellen Eklund for Charlotte Crafoord-Larsen in the 85th minute to finish the match with fresh legs. In a last desperate effort, Lörby IF also substituted Alicia Mattisson for Fanny Hiller in the 86th minute, but the match ended 2-1 in favor of Hittarps IK.
Referee Simon Anderjon maintained an acceptable level of officiating, and assistants Egzon Gerxhaliu and Lulzim Meholli were also stable. The early goals in the match gave Hittarps IK an advantage, but it seems to have been a well-balanced contest during the second half where Lörby IF could have scored additional goals.
