Östers IF hosted Eskilsminne IF at Visma Arena in Växjö in front of an audience of 1,812 on Saturday afternoon. Leading up to the match, the teams were in fifth and sixth place respectively in Division 1 Södra.
The match began evenly, and it wasn't until the 26th minute that Östers IF took the lead through Mario Vasilj. Shortly thereafter, Elmin Nurkic received a yellow card. Before halftime, Philip Petersson from Eskilsminne IF also received a yellow card, as did another Eskilsminne player in the 42nd minute.
In the second half, Östers IF continued to dominate, with Joel Rajalakso scoring the second goal in the 49th minute. Just two minutes later, Freddy Söderberg scored a penalty to make it 3-0 after Alexander Zaim had previously received his second yellow card. Alexander Henningsson then extended the lead to 4-0 in the 57th minute.
Eskilsminne IF substituted two players in the 67th minute and one in the 69th minute, but to no avail. Östers IF had several opportunities to score more goals, but a missed penalty from Denis Velic and a number of disallowed goals kept the score at 4-0 until the 92nd minute.
Then Emil Åberg scored a goal for Eskilsminne IF, but it was too late. Östers IF won in the end with a score of 4-1, earning three much-needed points. Despite the loss, Eskilsminne IF retains its sixth place in the table. The referee for the match, Adnan Jukic, was assisted by Gheorghe Piscoran and Mattias Hedman Lilja.
