Östers IF defeated IK Oddevold 2-1 in an exciting match at Visma Arena in Växjö on Saturday afternoon. The match attracted a decent crowd of 2,438 people, who witnessed a high-level game.
IK Oddevold took the lead in the 37th minute through Johan Patriksson after a fine pass from a teammate. Östers IF pressed hard for an equalizer, but the first half ended 0-1 in favor of the visitors.
At the beginning of the second half, Daniel Stanisic of IK Oddevold received a yellow card for a brutal tackle on an opponent. Shortly thereafter, Östers IF's Denis Velic scored the equalizer 1-1 from a free kick in the 55th minute.
After an hour of play, Östers IF made their first substitution, replacing Robin Östlind with Robin Strömberg. Strömberg would prove to be a key player in the latter part of the second half.
IK Oddevold's substitutions of Emil Niklasson and Tobias Mikaelsson in the 72nd minute ignited a spark in the team, which now did everything possible to take the lead again. However, Elmin Nurkic of Östers IF received a yellow card in the 78th minute, causing Östers IF to lose momentum.
In the final part of the match, IK Oddevold brought on Robert Lipovac for Tobias Mikaelsson, and Östers IF substituted Richard Donkor for Mattias Pavic. But it was Pavic who would decide the match with his goal in the 89th minute, giving Östers IF a much-desired victory.
IK Oddevold, eager to earn points and win the match, went all out in the final minutes and received a few yellow cards, with Johan Patriksson and Alen Kasumovic getting cautions in the 90th and the 90th+4 minutes, respectively.
The match was officiated by Victor Wolf, with assistant referees Mattias Jakobsson and Ajdin Mlivic, who maintained excellent control over the game. Östers IF won the match 2-1 and the players celebrated the important victory with each other and the fans.
