Östers IF secured yet another victory in Division 1 Södra when they faced FC Höllviken on Saturday afternoon at Visma Arena in Växjö. With an attendance of 2,037 people, including assistant referees Joakim Wik and Jon Lindholm, expectations were high ahead of the match.

Prior to the match, Östers IF was leading the table while FC Höllviken was at the bottom. However, it would turn out that there wasn’t much difference between the teams on the field. Both teams received a yellow card after 15 minutes: Richard Donkor was booked for Östers IF, while Tobias Malm was cautioned for FC Höllviken.

Eight minutes later, it happened again. This time, Max Westerberg received a yellow card for FC Höllviken. While the team struggled on the pitch, Karl-Johan Lindblad scored the first goal of the match, putting Östers IF ahead 1-0 with a penalty in the 42nd minute.

In the second half, we saw several substitutions from both teams. First, Östers IF made a change: Mattias Pavic replaced Richard Donkor in the 65th minute. Then it was FC Höllviken’s turn to substitute, bringing in Ali Burrniku for Max Westerberg in the 68th minute.

However, the substitutions did not change the play on the field, and with only a few minutes left in the match, Robin Strömberg scored the second goal for Östers IF, securing a solid 2-0 victory. This extended the team’s lead in the table, while FC Höllviken will need to fight harder if they want to advance in the rest of the season.

Referee Ozan Camlibel maintained a firm grip on the match and issued cautions as needed. Björn Berglund from Östers IF received a yellow card in the 90th minute, but it did not affect the outcome of the match.
