The sixth round of Division 1 Södra was played at Klostergårdens IP in front of an audience of 161 people. It was Lunds BK who hosted the visiting Oskarshamns AIK on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
The match began with a lot of ball possession from Oskarshamns AIK, and it didn’t take long for them to take the lead. William Kvist was first to the ball and sent it behind a helpless goalkeeper. Lunds BK fought to come back and created a few half-chances, but instead, Oskarshamns AIK extended their lead when Christopher Mbamba headed in a corner.
The second half started much like the first. Oskarshamns AIK pressed on and punished Lunds BK with two quick goals. First, Sonny Karlsson stepped up and put the ball in the net, then William Kvist increased the lead with a free-kick goal.
But Lunds BK didn’t give up and quickly reduced the deficit through Jesper Möller from a free-kick. Möller then scored again after a nice change of play. Lunds BK continued to press and Geronimo Balint managed to pull one back to make it 3-4 with a fine header from a cross.
The match remained closely contested for a long time, but eventually, Oskarshamns AIK was able to extend their lead when Karlsson scored his second goal of the day. Lunds BK didn't throw in the towel, and Andreas Birgersson managed to score in the 88th minute, but it wasn’t enough for a point. The final score was 4-5 in favor of Oskarshamns AIK.
Referee David Almgren officiated the match well, effectively assisted by Jon Lindholm and Ismar Ramadani. An exciting match with many goals. Oskarshamns AIK moved up to third place in the table while Lunds BK continues to struggle at the bottom.
