Lindome GIF surprised the crowd at Lindevi IP 1 Artificial Turf on Thursday evening when they defeated Skövde AIK 1-0 in Division 1 South. In front of an audience of 174, the match started with a high tempo, but no goals were scored until the 67th minute. It was Viktor Alexandersson who managed to break the deadlock for Lindome GIF with a phenomenal goal. Skövde AIK fought hard to get back into the game, but Lindome GIF's level of defense was difficult to break through.
The match was not without incidents, as referee Rambod Beigi was forced to issue a yellow card to Eric Nohlgren from Lindome GIF in the 33rd minute. Skövde AIK substituted Amer Ibrahimovic into the game in the 70th minute, replacing Viktor Granath. In the 78th minute, they took out Oskar Mårtensson and brought in Elmar Abraham instead. Lindome GIF made two substitutions almost simultaneously in the 85th minute when Filip Lagerstedt came on for Hampus Dahlqvist and Felix Hellberg stepped in for Viktor Alexandersson. Skövde AIK also replaced one of their players, Emil Eriksson, with Samuel Sörman.
In the end, Lindome GIF held on to their 1-0 lead, and in the 90th minute, Patrick Noaksson was substituted for Fredrik Karlberg Knez. Lindome GIF continues their season from 11th place in the standings but can take pride in having defeated a strong Skövde AIK, who are currently in 2nd place in Division 1 South.
