The surprise was not absent when Stuvsta IF hosted Tyresö FF at Stuvsta IP 1 in Division 1 Södra Svealand for women. In front of an empty stand, the home team wanted to climb up the table while Tyresö aimed to maintain their position in the upper ranks. A draw was expected, but it turned out to be a really eventful match with many goals and red cards.
It was the visiting Tyresö who opened the scoring after just twelve minutes. Alice Bergström scored the first goal of the match after a nice attack, and just two minutes later, she found the net again and made it Tyresö's second goal. After 19 minutes, Lina Malmborg increased the lead to 0-3 for Tyresö.
In the 22nd minute, Tyresö suffered a significant setback when Jennifer Bakai received her second yellow card and was sent off. Following the red card, Tyresö made a substitution, bringing in Karolina Sundberg for Sara Frigren.
Stuvsta tried to apply pressure on Tyresö, but it was instead Tyresö who found the net again, just 32 minutes into the match, when Alice Bergström scored her third goal of the evening, completing her hat trick.
Stuvsta made two substitutions just before half-time, but it did not help them to come closer to a reduction before the referee blew for half-time.
Immediately after the break, Stuvsta received a warning, as Madeleine Stegius picked up a yellow card. Stuvsta continued to press Tyresö, and in the 53rd minute, Stuvsta's Madeleine Stegius scored a goal, reducing Tyresö's lead to 1-4.
With fifteen minutes left in the match, it was once again Hanna Gustafsson from Stuvsta who was cautioned, only to receive another yellow card two minutes later, resulting in her expulsion.
Stuvsta was forced to make a substitution, bringing Caroline Boström in for Julia Egelryd. Tyresö also took the opportunity to make two substitutions, with Victoria Isaksson replacing Lina Malmborg and Elsa Bengtsson coming on for Ida Ahlbom.
In the 67th minute, it was Angelica Kreüger from Stuvsta who scored a goal, reducing Tyresö's lead to 2-4. This gave Stuvsta a glimmer of hope as they continued to press Tyresö.
In the 86th minute, Stuvsta got a chance to come close to the long-awaited equalizer when they were awarded a penalty. Madeleine Stegius scored the penalty confidently, bringing Tyresö's lead down to just one goal. However, with only a few minutes left on the clock, Stuvsta could not score again, and the match ended with a strong victory for Tyresö FF, with a score of 4-3.
