On Saturday afternoon, an exciting match was played between IK Gauthiod and IF Viken at Lunnevi IP A-plan in Division 2 Northern Götaland, women's league. Despite the absence of spectators, it was a tough and evenly matched game that ended 1-1.
IF Viken took the lead through Evelina Väyrynen in the 28th minute. The goal came from a header and was truly a minor sensation, as IK Gauthiod had previously dominated the match. But just two minutes later, IK Gauthiod equalized through Stina Österberg with a nice pass from a teammate.
The second half was filled with tension and hard duels. IK Gauthiod’s Matilda Ahlstrand received a yellow card in the 75th minute after tackling an opponent hard. Two minutes later, teammate Ida Rohlén also received a yellow card, indicating that the atmosphere in the match was becoming increasingly charged.
Despite several close chances from both teams, neither side was able to score again, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. A fair distribution of points after an exciting and well-played game by both teams. Referee Brian Goodhue had full control of the match and was well assisted by Nejra Sutovic and Oscar Fyhr.
