It was a chilly Saturday afternoon when Lerums IS hosted Vårgårda IK at home on Aspevallen 1 Grass. A match that looked set to be an exciting confrontation after both teams had made their preparations and stepped onto the pitch. Despite the home team's high ambitions, it was Vårgårda who would prove to be stronger, as they put their first goal in the net early in the match after a penalty by Mohammad Abdulrahman in the 12th minute.

Lerums IS fought on but could not stop Vårgårda, as the home team conceded two more goals following beautiful teamwork and goals from Albinot Rexhepi (18th minute) and Mohammed Abdulrahman again (46th minute), giving the visiting Vårgårda a 3-0 lead, a lead that would prove insurmountable.

In the 55th minute, Albinot Rexhepi scored his second goal of the day with a header before hat-trick hero Mohammed Abdulrahman netted his third goal after a nice assist from Simon Görling, extending Vårgårda's lead to four goals.

Lerums IS continued to battle but could not find the right mentality to push themselves back into the match. The home team finally received two yellow cards when Philip Vilhelmsson was booked in the 57th minute and Daniel Ledius in the 78th minute. Vårgårda wanted to put the match to bed and did so when Mohammed Abdulrahman scored his third goal in the 58th minute with a nice strike from outside the penalty area.

The crowd, which numbered 52 people in attendance, witnessed a clear victory for Vårgårda IK, who, with the win, climbed to 8th place in the table, leaving Lerums IS at the bottom of the standings. Lerums IS will now need to rethink their strategy, while Vårgårda IK has gained plenty of confidence heading into their upcoming matches.
