IFK Tidaholm secured a narrow victory against Vårgårda IK away on Friday evening. The match was played without an audience at Tånga Hed Pua Arena A.
The beginning of the match was physical with several tough duels, and both teams were equally skilled in winning the ball during the first half hour. In the 23rd minute, Vårgårda IF's Richard Wartmark received a yellow card for a hard tackle. Ten minutes later, IFK Tidaholm's Linus Johansson received a similar warning.
With two minutes left in the first half, Vårgårda found a breakthrough. Hassan Najafi shot the ball into the net, giving the home team an early lead.
But at the start of the second half, IFK Tidaholm struck back. Johansson managed to hit the target and scored from a free-kick, equalizing the score. Five minutes later, Shkelqim Krasniqi received a yellow card for Vårgårda. Florent Rushiti followed suit with a yellow card for IFK Tidaholm shortly after.
With 25 minutes left, Vårgårda substituted Lord Ofosuhene in for Khalid Abdo. However, it was Vårgårda IK’s Mohammed Abdulrahman who received another yellow card.
IFK Tidaholm made a substitution in the 70th minute when Victor Luis Larsson replaced Dennis Pasanbegovic. Three minutes later, Osman Karimi came on for Jonatan Larsson.
In the 75th minute, IFK Tidaholm delivered a significant blow to Vårgårda when Karimi sent the ball into the net to the right of the goalkeeper, giving Tidaholm a 2-1 lead. With seven minutes remaining, Abdoulie Bojang was substituted out for Vårgårda IK, with Damian Sarzynski coming in. With only two minutes left, Daniel Joelsson was substituted in for Adam Öksüz for IFK Tidaholm.
The match ended 2-1 in favor of IFK Tidaholm, who built their victory on skillful goal-scoring in the second half. It was a well-deserved win after a closely contested match, with both teams showing excellent fighting spirit.
