Älvåkra IP was unusually quiet on Saturday afternoon when Älvsby IF faced Kågedalens AIF in Division 2 Norra Norrland Nord for women. With zero spectators in the stands and a dismal table position for the home team, not much excitement was anticipated that day, but the match turned out to deliver some drama nonetheless.
Referee Isac Lundqvist blew the whistle to start the match, and both teams immediately pressed forward. Kågedalens AIF, who had the chance to claim third place in the table with a victory, was clearly more dominant in play. However, it was the home team that earned dividends for their efforts after 26 minutes. Johanna Björk took a free kick and beautifully curled the ball into the net. It was 1-0 for Älvsby IF, and suddenly they had the wind in their sails.
Kågedalens AIF continued to play offensively and came very close to equalizing on several occasions. But the home team's defense held firm, and their goalkeeper made several excellent saves.

Despite Kågedalens AIF maintaining greater possession of the ball and creating more chances than Älvsby IF, they could never manage to get the ball in the net. When referee Lundqvist blew the final whistle, the score remained 1-0 for the home team.
Älvsby IF thus achieved a much-anticipated victory and three points in a match that hadn’t been expected to be so exciting. Kågedalens AIF, on the other hand, returned home empty-handed but could still take pride in their fourth place in the table.
