Timrå IP Artificial Turf was filled in anticipation of the weekend matchup between IFK Timrå and Söderhamns FF. With 117 spectators present and referee Ivica Matanovic officiating, the match kicked off.
IFK Timrå started the match strongly and created several dangerous chances, but it wasn't until the 25th minute that they found the back of the net. Jonathan Åhlin redirected the ball after a cross from the right flank, and the lead was established.
However, Söderhamns FF did not let this deter them and continued to fight their way back into the match. After 38 minutes, Andreas Rodin earned a free kick just outside the penalty area. He lifted the ball over the wall and into the net behind a helpless goalkeeper.
In the second half, the play remained fairly even, but with 20 minutes left to play, Andreas Rodin was substituted. Martin Elffors came on, bringing a boost of energy that would prove decisive.
With fifteen minutes left in the match, Söderhamns FF launched a lightning-fast counterattack that led to a penalty kick, which Niklas Holm confidently converted.
IFK Timrå desperately tried to come back, but instead suffered a series of cautions—two each for Johan Sjöberg and Mattias Norin.
Söderhamns FF continued to play with a strong defense and counterattacking play, and with just a few minutes remaining of regular time, they extended their lead through a fine individual effort by Martin Elffors.
Söderhamns FF thus returned home with an important victory and three new points, while IFK Timrå once again had to evaluate their performance.
